Shipping & Handling Charges:
$5.00 for Compact Discs in any quantity. The Sound Exchange uses United Parcel Service. Equipment is shipped UPS insured standard service and is billed at the following rates: 1-5 lbs. = $5.00, 6-10 lbs = $10.00, 11-25 lbs. = $15.00, 26-50 = $25.00, 50-100 lbs. = $50.00 etc.
Merchandise Damaged in Shipping:
If your delivery is received damaged and the cost of the merchandise is over $100, please request a UPS Damage Inspection through our local UPS outlet. UPS will come out and inspect the damage, issue a Damage Call Tag (DCT) Number and take the merchandise with them. After this is done, please call The Sound Exchange with the DCT Number for further instructions. If the merchandise costs less than $100, please call your local UPS outlet to get a Damage Number. To get the number, you will need to provide UPS with your name , Address, the six digit shipping number, value of the merchandise and the nature of the damage. UPS will then issue an eight digit number. After this is done please call The Sound Exchange.
Return Policy: Media
Non-defective media items are not returnable. Defective pre-recorded video tapes, cassettes, CDs, DVDs, and laser discs may be exchanged for same title ONLY! Defective Used CDs can be exchanged for 100% credit within 10 days of purchase. Shipping and Handling is not refundable. Customer is responsible for shipping the product back to The Sound Exchange Freight Prepaid via UPS Ground Service Insured for the full purchase value of merchandise. All returns must have a Return Authorization number written clearly on the shipping label. RA#'s are available by calling (908) 725-7633 during business hours. Please note that an RA# does not guarantee final disposition; all returns are subject to inspection. Any merchandise found to be not defective or damaged intentionally will be returned to the customer Any merchandise returned to us unauthorized will be refused.
Return Policy: Equipment
The Sound Exchange Offers a 30 day exchange policy to our equipment customers. All of our new electronic products are covered with the full manufacturers warranty for parts and labor. The Sound Exchange will assist our customers in shipping and receiving if it is necessary to send back defective merchandise to the manufacturer. The customer will bear all shipping expenses including packaging. All merchandise returned for an exchange or credit must be in original factory condition, including all packaging materials, inserts and manuals, warranty cards (not filled) out and all accessories. Any missing manuals, remote, or supplied accessories will result in a charge to you to replace missing items. Please do not tape anything to the item or write anything on the outside of the original box. We will charge you for replacement of damaged, altered, missing, or written-on or taped-on contents or cartons. Any merchandise that is returned to us scratched, dented, or abused will be noted and returned to you. All of our used equipment has a 30 day parts and labor warranty. Used equipment is not warrantied against abuse or overload; by way of example but not limited; to burnt or damaged voice coils, lightning, power surges or brownouts, burnt power transformers or MOVs, water damage, lost or missing knobs or remote controls. Styli, phono cartridges, and speaker components are NOT acceptable for exchange, credit or refund.
